Matt Wheeler, LAC / Psychotherapist

Matt was born and raised in Arizona and became acquainted with therapy as a child. His family is a recovery family, and the seed of becoming a therapist was always present in his mind. He has a Bachelor's Degree from ASU and a Master's in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University.

Matt received his concentration in trauma, abuse and deprivation. His high energy works well with adults and teenagers alike.

Working with sexual addiction and unwanted sexual compulsions has always been of interest to Matt. He sought out Family Strategies, completed his internship with us, and was excited to join the team full time. He works with the team of therapists who are certified to administer the LifeSTAR Program which deals specifically with sexual compulsivity and codependency.

Matt is available for complimentary speaking on a variety of mental health topics with church groups, ecclesiastical leaders, and other not-for-profit organizations. On a personal level, Matt is actively living his dream of being a professional photographer in addition to being a therapist. He enjoys hiking, mountain and road biking, and dating his wife. They have three adorable children.
